Gas stoves are key equipment in the kitchen, which greatly affects the practicality of the kitchen. At the same time, gas stoves are essential for improving cooking efficiency and ensuring family safety. I have used 10 gas stoves for more than ten years, and I have been cheated when buying gas stoves. Later, for some reason, I entered the kitchen appliance industry by mistake. 1. Confirm the gas source, installation method and size
Common gas sources include: natural gas 12T, coal gas R, liquefied gas Y, etc. The corresponding gas sources correspond to the corresponding gas equipment and cannot be mixed with each other.

2. Gas stove types
The common types of gas stoves on the market are: single-burner stove, electric combination stove, double-burner stove, three-burner stove, etc. Among them, single-burner stove and electric combination stove are used less frequently and are not suitable for home use, so they are not considered.
Compared with double-burner stoves and three-burner stoves, double-burner stoves have the highest market share and are more suitable for home use. Three-burner stoves only have one more stove hole than double-burner stoves, which seems to be a humanized design, but in actual use, the cost performance is not very high.
3. Look at the material of the stove head and the fire distributor
In gas cooking equipment, the material selection of the burner is a key factor. Common burner and fire divider materials include cast iron, aluminum alloy, copper, etc.
Cast iron : High temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, but easy to rust and block pores, causing flames to run wild, requiring regular inspection and cleaning and maintenance.
Aluminum alloy : The burner head is light, but the high temperature resistance is not as good as the other two materials, and there is a possibility of deformation.
Copper : High temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity, high thermal efficiency, not easy to temper. Therefore, the best choice for the burner head material is copper.
It is worth noting that there are fake copper and real copper fire dividers. Some unscrupulous merchants sell copper-plated fire dividers as pure copper stove heads. Be careful to distinguish them when purchasing.
4. Security Configuration
For household gas stoves, equipping a flameout safety device is an extremely critical preventive measure. A qualified gas stove must be equipped with a flameout protection device and a child lock device. The flameout protection device can cut off the gas source immediately to avoid safety accidents caused by accidental flame extinguishing. The child lock device can prevent children from tampering with it and improperly operating when turning on and off the gas.
There are three types of flameout protection devices for gas stoves: thermal sensitive, thermocouple, and ion sensing.
Thermal flameout protection device : long reaction time, now basically eliminated.
Thermocouple flameout protection device : relatively sensitive reaction, currently a more common protection method.
Ion induction flameout protection device : very short reaction time, 1 second to cut off the gas source, the highest safety, but also high price, generally appear on high-end gas stoves.
Secondly, it is not enough to just choose the right protective device, you also have to look at its material. The best quality is the copper-clad sensor needle, which does not rust and has a long service life. The stainless steel-clad sensor needle is second, but its corrosion resistance is not as good as the former. The iron-clad sensor needle is the worst, and it is easy to rust if it is not cleaned in time when it comes into contact with water, and its service life and quality are not satisfactory.
5. Look at the panel material
The panel material is also the key to whether the gas stove is easy to use. Currently, there are three types of gas stove panels: stainless steel, tempered glass, and ceramic.
Tempered glass panel : Tempered glass is the most commonly used one at present. Its advantages are corrosion resistance, high appearance, easy to clean, high temperature resistance and long service life. The disadvantage is that it is afraid of corner contact and will explode if touched. Secondly, it has a self-explosion rate of 0.3%.
Ceramic panel : high appearance, easy to clean, corrosion resistance, but its high temperature resistance is slightly poor, and its bearing capacity is not as good as tempered glass and stainless steel. At the same time, the price is relatively expensive.
Stainless steel panel : high temperature resistance, long life and high safety, but its corrosion resistance and aesthetics are slightly worse than the first two.
After confirming the panel material, we must also find out the quality of the panel. The tempered glass panel materials on the market can be divided into: ordinary tempered glass and explosion-proof tempered glass. Ordinary tempered glass is cheap, not impact-resistant, and relatively easy to explode. Explosion-proof tempered glass is impact-resistant and has better quality than the former. Secondly, there are also sodium-calcium ion tempered glass, gold sand tempered glass, etc. on the market. Some new terms are made up, and more marketing elements are involved.
The other is the stainless steel panel, which has several materials such as 201, 304, 316, etc. For household gas stoves, 304 and 316 food-grade stainless steel should be selected, while 201 stainless steel will oxidize and rust after being damaged, and the glossiness will decrease. Secondly, in terms of thickness, the national standard stipulates that it should not be less than 0.3mm, and some good panels even reach 0.4mm and 0.5mm. However, there are also some inferior panels with a thickness of less than 0.2mm, and their load-bearing capacity is relatively poor.
6. Look at the ignition method
There are two ignition methods for gas stoves: electronic pulse ignition and piezoelectric ceramic ignition.
Electronic pulse ignition : high ignition success rate, simple operation, but requires battery assistance. In addition, electronic pulse ignition is also divided into two types: ordinary pulse ignition and automatic pulse ignition. Ordinary pulse ignition requires pressing for a period of time during ignition. If you let go halfway, the ignition will fail. Automatic pulse ignition does not require pressing, and the ignition success rate can reach 100%.
Piezoelectric ceramic ignition : You need to press and hold the switch to ignite the fire. The success rate is lower than the former. The advantage is that it does not require batteries or external power supply.
7. Air Inlet Method
There are three common air intake methods for gas stoves: bottom air intake, top air intake, and full air intake.
Downward air intake: An earlier air intake method with stronger firepower suitable for families who like stir-frying, but it requires opening appropriate hole sizes in advance to allow smooth air circulation and ensure that the gas source is fully burned. Otherwise, it is easy to cause high concentrations of carbon monoxide to be released, causing some bad things to happen.
Upper air intake: An improved and upgraded method of lower air intake, the stove head is higher than the countertop, and air enters from the gap between the stove head and the liquid tray. It is more beautiful than lower air intake, and there is no need to open holes in the kitchen cabinet, reducing the risk of cracking of the stove glass, and improving safety.
Full air intake: combines the advantages of upper and lower air intake methods, no need to open holes, saves gas and energy, combustion is full and stable, high fire is fierce, low fire is stable. It is also recommended that you choose the full air intake method as much as possible.
8. Gas stove bottom shell
The bottom shell of the gas stove is made of two materials, galvanized sheet and iron sheet. Iron sheet is easy to oxidize and rust, which affects its load-bearing capacity and service life. Relatively speaking, galvanized sheet has high hardness, strong load-bearing capacity, and will not rust, so it is the best choice.
Secondly, it is to look at the structure of the bottom shell of the gas stove. One is a full-cover structure and the other is a half-cover structure. Buy a full-cover instead of a half-cover. The full-cover covers the entire panel, which can play an auxiliary load-bearing role and increase the service life of the panel.
9. Look at the internal structure
There are two types of internal structures of gas stoves, one is the direct plug-in structure and the other is the full pipe structure. The direct plug-in structure gas stove has a more chaotic wiring and is less safe. The full pipe structure is mainly used in some high-end stoves. The lines and pipes are laid neatly and in a standardized manner, and the protection is more detailed.
However, there are good and bad direct plug-in structures. In high-quality direct plug-in structures, the solenoid valve, battery, assembly, pulse igniter and other places are all protected by galvanized plates, and the power cord is also well organized. In contrast, in low-quality direct plug-in structures, not only is there no protection, but the power cord is also quite messy.
10. User Experience
In addition to the above hard indicators, you should also pay attention to the user experience when purchasing a gas stove. No matter how good the quality of the gas stove is, it is useless if it is uncomfortable to use. Therefore, when purchasing a gas stove, you should also pay attention to practicality, simple operation, comfort, simplicity, ease of use, and easy cleaning.
(1) Difficulty of cleaning
When choosing a gas stove, practicality and cleaning difficulty are very important, especially the location of the burner, which is prone to accumulation of oil stains and difficult to clean. The burner structure can be divided into three types: split burner, fixed burner, and connection point movable burner.
Among them, the split burner is the most practical type. Its load-bearing is borne by the support plate, and the liquid tray, burner, and fire cover can all be disassembled, so the oil stains left on the countertop can be cleaned more cleanly. Moreover, it is easy to disassemble and assemble, which is the most practical.
(2) Thermal efficiency
Thermal efficiency refers to the percentage of the heat flow actually absorbed by the cooking appliance to the measured heat flow. Under the same heat load, the higher the thermal efficiency, the more energy and gas saving it will be. When the thermal efficiency is ≥63%, it is the first-level energy efficiency, and when it is ≥59%, it is the second-level energy efficiency. The international power regulation is 3.5kw. You should buy a fire divider with a front opening instead of a side opening. Although the front opening may be blocked by garbage, it has a strong fire-gathering ability and is evenly heated. In actual use, the front opening boils water faster, while the side opening boils water slower.
